Around 7pm a runabout with five people onboard and a fishing boat with one person onboard were between Curtis and Quion Islands when the incident occurred.

All six received injuries as a result of the incident and were taken to the Gladstone Hospital for treatment.

9.20pm: An 18-year-old man has been taken to Gladstone Hospital with potential spinal injuries, a Department of Community Safety spokeswoman said.

She said ambulance officers were on their way to assess a further five patients believed to be on the second vessel.

9.10pm: THE second vessel has been located by Queensland Water Police.

8.50pm: A search is underway for a second vessel involved in a collision on Gladstone Harbour tonight.

Emergency services were called at 8.15pm to attend to O'Connell Wharf in Gladstone where a boatie with reports of lacerations to the face was headed.

It is believed that boatie is now in the hands of Queensland Ambulance Service, while a search is underway for the second vessel.
