UPDATE 8.45pm: A DEER is dead and a car damaged after an incident at Egans Hill on the Bruce Highway tonight.

The Bruce Highway has been reopened at Egans Hill, one kilometre south of the Burnett Highway turnoff, following a car crash.

Initial reports suggest a commodore hit an animal and stopped on the left hand side of the highway, south of Rockhampton.
