Driver dead after crash near Winton

Police are investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred earlier Saturday morning near Winton.

Initial information suggests that at around 8.30am, a single vehicle has left the Landsborough Highway approximately 10kms north of Winton.

A male driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene.

One lane of the highway has been closed while the Forensic Crash Unit investigates.
