Only 5.1% of the Rocky workforce are employed in mining

DESPITE strong connections to the mining industry, only 5.1% of the Rockhampton workforce are employed in mining.

Rockhampton was number 100 out of the 560 local government areas when it came to mineral resources.

However, 6.1% are employed in public services and 12.1% are employed in the allied health services.

The data also revealed 5.1% of the adult workforce are unemployed.
