Fuel tanker crash in Longreach
UPDATE 8.55PM: A MAN has died following a truck rollover near Longreach late this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the scene, on the Landsborough Highway, just after 4pm.
It was a single vehicle rollover of a road train.
A Queensland Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said the prime mover was upside down and it was believed the truck was carrying trailers.
Comments on facebook suggested the accident occurred near the roundabout on the highway in the Winton direction.
Police are still trying to notify the man's next of kin, but it is believed he is not from Central Queensland or Central West.
BREAKING: At 4:15pm Longreach rescue crews were called out as fuel leaks from an overturned prime mover on the Landsbrough Highway.
Rescue services report the prime mover is on its roof in Spoonbill St and has a major fuel leak. There are unconfirmed reports that the driver is still in the vehicle and may be deceased.
