GOLF: The Keppel Zone's top junior golfers will go head-to-head with their Curtis Zone counterparts this weekend as they compete for the Lindley's Panel Works Junior Pennant Shield.

Junior golfers from all clubs in the Keppel Zone will travel down to Boyne Island Golf Club on Sunday with the goal of winning back the shield which they lost last year.

In the boys' division, Rockhampton junior Rowan Coombes will be the lowest handicap player in the field and will take on Gladstone's Jay Clampett who defeated Sam Broom in last year's event.

A good match is expected from the highly competitive field.

The in-form Sarah Antcliff, of Yeppoon, will have to be on her game to defeat Boyne Island's Lily McKelvie on her home-course in the girls' division.

In other golf news, former Rockhampton junior golfer Mia Martin who moved to Brisbane last year to further her golfing career.

And she appeared to be on the right track when she was recently selected to represent the Greg Norman Foundation Queensland team to compete against the New South Wales' Jack Newton team at Newcastle Golf Course.

But it wasn't to be as the Greg Norman Team lost to the Jack Newton team (16-14 points).
