LNP turns to the fairer sex in CQ
THE LNP is urging more Central Queensland women to get involved in politics.
LNP Women will host a series of information evenings throughout Queensland, including one in Rockhampton, in July and August to supply women with the information needed to make a decision about seeking a leadership role in the community or pursing a career in politics.
The information evenings will feature guest speakers including Queensland's first female Speaker Fiona Simpson and Senator Sue Boyce, as well as other prominent women involved at local, state and federal level.
LNP Women's President Ann McKenzie said the workshops were designed to remove the mystery of how women can get more involved in their community and politics.
"The first step to making a decision to seek a leadership role is to arm yourself with the right information and that is what these workshops will offer," Mrs McKenzie said.
The Rockhampton information evening will be held on August 6 at the Leichhardt Hotel.
