Man fractures femur, waiting to be airlifted from Byfield

A MAN, believed to be in his mid 20s, is waiting to be airlifted from Byfield National Park tonight.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said the man came off a motorbike at low speed while travelling through the Red Rock Camping Ground just after 6pm

He said the man has a fractured femur and the RACQ Capricorn Helicopter Rescue is on its way to pick the man up from the grounds.

The man is expected to be taken to Rockhampton Hospital.
