Motorbike rider dies after crash
UPDATE 11.07am: A 40-YEAR-OLD motorbike rider has died after a collision with a car on the Dawson Highway, 2km west of Calliope.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the cause of the accident.
Police diversions are on the highway and motorists are being urged to avoid the area.
BREAKING 9.40am: Emergency services are at the scene of an accident, believed to be a fatality, on the Dawson Highway, 2km west of Calliope.
A Queensland Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said were called to the scene of a car and motorbike crash at 8.52am.
The spokeswoman said there had been a casualty, but they were unsure of the person's condition.
Police said they believed someone may have been killed.
