Escaped prisoners taken into custody on Emu Park Rd

UPDATE 5PM: Police have located two men who escaped from Etna Creek prison farm at Rockhampton on Sunday night.

The men were today sighted travelling in a stolen white 2002 Toyota Landcruiser utility at Keppel Sands around 4pm.

The two men were taken into police custody at 4.30pm.

Police would like to thank the public and the media for their assistance in this search.

4.30PM: It is believed the two escaped prisoners have been taken into custody after they were recaptured on Emu Park Rd, 15km south of Rockhampton.

Reports suggest the stolen vehicle they were travelling in had a blown tyre and was travelling on a rim.

EARLIER: Police are currently searching the area around the Cawarral pub after a confirmed sighting of escaped prisoners Tony Dwaine Morgan and Bradley Thomas Kuhl.

Detective Inspector Darrin Shadlow confirmed the pair bought a six pack of beer before leaving the pub in a vehicle.

A press conference was scheduled for 1pm.
