ELEVEN Rockhampton punters probably didn't gamble on getting stuck in a lift today.

Queensland Fire and Rescue Service were called to Callaghan Park last night to help 11 distressed Melbourne Cup day goers stuck in a lift.

However, staff at the racecourse were able to rescue the punters before QFRS crews arrived.

The QFRS crews were turned around at 6.10pm.
