AFTER a long plane flight and a little bit of time settling in, Malika the lion cub is truly growing into the Queen she was born to be.

The young lion cub from the Darling Downs Zoo now calls the Zoodoo Wildlife Park in Richmond, Tasmania home.

Since arriving at the zoo, Malika, which means Queen in Swahili, has tripled in size.

It is expected that when the young cub is just 18 months old she could way up to 180 kilograms.

Malika was one of four lion cubs born at the Darling Downs Zoo last year.
