THE Rockhampton Jockey Club's seven race TAB card set for Callaghan Park racecourse today was abandoned after 110mm of rain had fallen on the course by 7.30am.

Subsequently drenching rain continued at Callaghan Park throughout the day.

Racing Queensland Limited added an extra two races to the January 31 Rockhampton card which could result in a nine race card after 113 horses were entered.

Top Rockhampton sprinter Kilwinning Option is likely to start in Mackay on Tuesday where the new turf racetrack, acclaimed as one of the best draining of its type in Australia, is expected to dry out well providing the wet weather abates over the weekend.
