WATERSKIING: Rockhampton water skier Peter Smith can proudly say he learnt the art of barefoot skiing from the one of very best at the sport.

The Rockhampton Water Ski Club recently hosted international barefoot competitor Brendan Paige, who was conducting barefoot clinics throughout Queensland.

Paige, from the Gold Coast, was part of the world gold medal winning open team at the 2012 Barefoot World Championships in Texas, USA, and he was fifth overall in the open men.

He has a long list of accolades to his name and after turning professional at 17, Paige has spent the last three years pushing boundaries in the sport and coaching the sport he loves, spending six months of the year in Australia and six months in the USA.
