Sick children enjoy show
CHILDREN from Rockhampton Base Hospital's paediatric unit were full of excitement as they attended The Man from Snowy River Arena Spectacular at Beef Australia 2012 on Tuesday night.
The evening, hosted by Xstrata Coal Queensland, provided the kids and their families and friends with a rare opportunity to spend a night out together.
Rockhampton Base Hospital paediatric unit acting nurse manager Lori Nancarrow worked closely with Xstrata to organise the children's attendance at the event.
"Some of our patients don't have the opportunity to get out and about with their families regularly, so it was a great night for all of them," she said.
Xstrata Coal executive general manager Steve Bridger said he was proud to support the show.
"We were happy to provide the children with tickets to attend the show with their families," he said.
"We strive to be a part of the communities in which we operate."
