VEGEMITE and Cheese snags cooked on the barbecue - it doesn't get much more Aussie than that.
With Australia Day just around the corner, sausages are flying out the door at Billington's Cedar Park Meats on the Capricorn Coast and the unique flavour of Vegemite and Cheese is a favourite among customers.
Billington's owner Lisa White said she decided to add the Vegemite and Cheese flavour to the store's gourmet sausage range on the advice of a new customer and they were an instant hit.

"We were actually asked by a customer who was from Mt Isa if we would make them," Mrs White said.
"We're open to different flavours and we do a fair bit, so we started making them and now we just can't keep them on the tray.
"We've been doing them for a month now and we make them every week. I haven't tried them yet but everyone else loves them.
"We have two customers that come in and buy 2kg of Vegemite and Cheese sausages at a time."
Mrs White said leading up to Australia Day Billington's gourmet sausages were in high demand.
"In the gourmet sausages range we also have Bratwurst, Sweet Chilli and Red Pepper, Pork and Pineapple, Sweet Chilli and Chives, Lamb and Rosemary, Red Wine and Herb and Plain Pork," she said.
"We do a fair few gourmet sausages and we have our lamb loin chops on special for Australia Day as well."
The butcher shop will be closed on Australia Day so get in early to pick up your celebratory Vegemite and Cheese snags.
