Stadium and convention centre site to be confirmed next week

NRL BID chairman Geoff Murphy has confirmed that an NRL stadium and convention centre will be built in an area near the showgrounds precinct, if the proposal is approved.

They are hoping to confirm the exact site early next week.

Today Michelle Landry MP announced her support for the $227 million proposal.

"Rockhampton has stood idle for far too long … this is the project that could be the catalyst to change the way we as a city see ourselves," she said.
