Unruly patron inappropriately touched strippers at nightclub
HARASSING strippers on a night out at Rockhampton's Zodiac Nightclub earned Keith Andrew Downs a 12-month ban from the premises and an $800 fine.
Rockhampton Magistrates Court yesterday heard how Downs had inappropriately touched the female adult dancers in the club and was told a number of times to stop, when he was at the club venue on February 2.
Police prosecutor Matthew Heelan said after first refusing to leave, Downs, 25, was eventually evicted from the premises about 3am, fighting with a bouncer on the way out and yelling obscenities.
Mr Heelan said the Rockhampton man then continued to yell obscenities and threats to police when they arrived, and resisted arrest until he was placed in the rear of the police car.
Downs pleaded guilty to one charge of public nuisance, failure to leave a licensed premises, obstructing a police officer in the performance of his duties and obstruction generally to a licensee.
Magistrate Cameron Press ordered Downs be barred from the club for a year and fined him $800.
