THE closure of the Rockhampton Music Bowl was a hotly contested community issue.
The venue was renowned for providing years of family fun with the annual Carols by Candlelight and hosting famous bands since its opening in 1985.
Now we're expecting the replacement venue for the popular Carols by Candlelight to be just as hotly contested.
Council scoured the region to find a suitable venue and narrowed it down to the Heritage Village in Parkhurst.
The five other venues which were ruled out were the Rockhampton Showgrounds, the Kershaw Gardens, the Ski Gardens, the Botanic Gardens and Victoria Park.
This year's Carols by Candlelight at the Heritage Village is intended to be a trial.
Cr Ellen Smith raised parking concerns which prompted Mayor Margaret Strelow to suggest it might be time for the haphazard parking to be looked at before the Christmas event.
The final decision will be made by the full council.
But we at The Morning Bulletin want to know your thoughts on where the event should be held.
