Yeppoon service station evacuated

UPDATE 3.51PM: A gas technician has arrived on scene at a Yeppoon service station where there is a gas leak.

A Queensland Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said the gas leak is coming from a LPG tank, inside a car, which was situated on the back of a tow truck when the leak was discovered.

3.12PM: A YEPPOON service station has been evacuated and power supplies isolated due to a ruptured tank on the back of a truck.

Queensland Fire and Rescue Service crews are currently at the scene at the BP service station on the corner of Fairfax Court and Hoskyn Drive.

Emergency services were called at 2.50pm.
