Yeppoon woman bitten by taipan snake

A YEPPOON woman was bitten by a taipan snake last night near Adelaide Park Rd.

A spokesperson from the Queensland Ambulance Service said the 55-year-old was bitten on the foot at around 9.20pm.

She was transported to the Rockhampton Base Hospital last night.

It is believed the snake was likely a coastal taipan, which is the third-most venomous land snake.
