The Duggar family are now 18 strong... and counting.
AN Arkansas woman has given birth to her 18th child.
Michelle Duggar delivered the baby girl by Caesarean section on Thursday at Mercy Medical Centre in Rogers. The baby, named Jordyn-Grace Makiya Duggar, weighed 3.26kg and was 51cm long.
"The ultimate Christmas gift from God," said Jim Bob Duggar, the father of the 18 children. "She's just absolutely beautiful, like her mom and her sisters."
The Duggars now have 10 sons and eight daughters.
Jim Bob Duggar said Michelle started having contractions on Wednesday night. She needed the Caesarean section, her third, because the baby was lying sideways. Jim Bob said both baby and mother were doing well on Thursday night.
"We both would love to have more," he said.

The US cable network TLC broadcasts a weekly show about the Duggars, called Seventeen and Counting. Chris Finnegan of TLC - which handles public relations for the Duggar family - said the show's name would be updated to account for the latest addition to the family. He said TLC also will air a show on Monday on the baby's delivery.
Jim Bob Duggar is 43, a year older than his wife. Their oldest child, Joshua, is 20.
The other Duggar children, in between Joshua and Jordyn-Grace, are Jana, 18; John-David, 18; Jill, 17; Jessa, 16; Jinger, 14; Joseph, 13; Josiah, 12; Joy-Anna, 11; Jeremiah, nine; Jedidiah, nine; Jason, eight; James, seven; Justin, six; Jackson, four; Johannah, three; and Jennifer, one.
"Our whole family is excited about Jordyn's addition to our family," Jim Bob Duggar said. "She's just perfect in every way."

This selfish sex-crazed couple should both be sterilized & fined! On a planet GROANING under the weight of unrestrained human spawning, where children are starving to death or worse, this ignorant pair are dropping progeny like it's going out of fashion! Why should MY world have to suffer because she can't keep her legs closed & he can't keep it in his pants??? This is ABHORRENT, OBSCENE and a crime against nature!

Australia needs about 200,000 women like her otherwise all us old people when we get to retirement
will be living on baked beans. As for the kids dying in africa, if they stopped being ruled by dictators there would be more than enough food.

I fail to understand how this is selfish,(RE: comment by: "Chuckf"), 18 kids!, Wow, they would be flat out keeping up with them all, I should know I have 6 which is a big family by todays standards and keeps myself and my wife very busy.
The second outrages comment from "Chuckf" was about the couple being sterilized or fined, what complete garbage they deserve a medal for the dedication to raising kids. Are this couple living in a free country or a communist state?, The next one was about children starving to death when infact the amount of food produced in total all over the world is more than enough to feed the worlds population at least once over with a percentage left over annually.
It is controlled by dictators, government bodies and malitia groups all over the world for the purpose of greed. Global warming may be a factor but when across the population of the US the birth rate has fallen over the last decade, I don't think this one family is going to make the earth spin off it's axis causing major climate change driven disasters.
From what I have seen these kids seem to be cared for and loved which is more than I can say for a lot of kids even in this country.

Wonder how they remember all of their names. Birthdays would be a problem too. Maybe they should get a hobby!

This couple needs to stop NOW. What are they going to do when their endorsements run out, how will they provide for their family then? Surely they will stop when they run out the letter 'J' names. I have 3 children who's names begin with J and i still get them mixed up. Seriously though, enough is enough.

I can't see how chuck is doing such a great job at being perfect himself. Why is it his job to make the rules? And just in case he hadn't noticed, it's kind of natural for people to have babies. What difference does it make if a few families are larger than others? There are a lot of people who don't have any families at all. These people don't look to me like they are neglecting their children, or teaching them to be disgustingly predjudiced and opinionated like some people we could name... and what's more, if they're so ignorant, how can they teach their kids music or organise a family that big or run a tv show? It's up to us all to decide how we will live, as long as it doesn't infringe another's rights and I think bringing up children is a lot nicer way to live than some ideas people have thought of! Let them be.

Disgustingly irresponsible.
What gives the parents the right to consume a disproportionate share of the worlds scare resources?
Children are probably lovely. Its not their fault.

Whatever floats your boat ... not my idea of an ideal family, but it takes all kinds. Kids seem happy enough, and who ISN'T brainwashed by their early upbringing? That's what parents are for.

You go girl I say!!! If you are paying your own bills it is your prerogative. What ever happened to the value of big families. I am from a long line of families of ten or so and I think there are so many values to be gained by sharing your home and life with a large and loving family. You become less materialistic more empathetic. More equipt to work in a team when the time comes. You understand the importance of giving and sharing. Why do we want to live in a society that only values you for the car you drive. I'm over this 2 1/2 kids, a golden retriever and mortgage up to your eyeballs is how all families should be. People are what's important in life not status, not conforming to societies restrictions, not possessions. I think this family is adorable!

I wanted to have a large family. But was only able to have one. I'm 51 now and regret not being able to have more. I now have one of my own ,two step-children, and six foster children. And only one has left home and gotten married. He has two children of his own. I look forward to many happy family re-unions. I think these people are so lucky. They are so rich in love. I bet they budget really well. And have great family outings. I come from a family of 7 children and my husband comes from a family of 6. I can't see any problem with 18. I would love it.

The comments left by ''Chuckf'' were just foolish. ''Sex Crazed couple" etc... They've been married for around 20+ years and have 18 kids. That would only require love making once a year on average if it was well timed! Please think about what you're saying people!. Do we want government regulation on how many children we have?? In China now there are huge problems with millions of unmarried men who cannot find brides because of the millions of girl babies that were aborted due to China's 1 child policy. We are already way overgoverned. These kids will probably grow into responsible citizens and care for their communities, parents and own families. We need more, not less of these families!

Chuck mate, all I can say is get a grip on reality, your comments are unfounded and have no basis in truth. If you insist on making comments like this, maybe you should get to know the people you are badmouthing, in our country what you have done is tantamount to slander, and somehow I feel if the situation was reversed, you would be outraged by people making ridiculous comments. Maybe this couple should sue you for slandering their name, Im pretty sure you would if they did it to you.

I have watched this show quite regularly on Foxtel, and whilst I don't necessarily agree with having so may children ( I have three and perhaps counting), I also find that people judge me for having 3 children under 2.5 years ( and yes it is three pregnancies). So long as kids are being well looked after, are loved and well educated, I see no reason why anyone else need judge them for there only personal beliefs. Plenty of people have told me that three children is too many and I find that offensive - but I know that I am doing right by them and that's all that matters! If they can afford to support, educate and look after that many children than good on them ... no one else has any idea the work that it takes to do just that!!!
