A HORSE that died on a central Queensland property on the weekend has been tested for Hendra virus.
The horse was bleeding from the nose and mouth before it died at the horse stud at Cawarral, east of Rockhampton.
The Department of Primary Industries has quarantined the property, ahead of the test results on Monday afternoon, a spokesman for minister Tim Mulherin told AAP.
A Hendra outbreak in August last year killed Brisbane vet Ben Cunneen, the first person to die of the disease in 10 years.
