Jodie McCallum wants to thank the young hero who saved her daughter Savannah’s life at the weekend.
ROCKHAMPTON mother Jodie McCallum has sung the praises of an anonymous little boy who saved her daughter's life on the weekend.
Little Savannah was on the jumping castle at the Rockhampton Speedway on Saturday night when she started convulsing.
A boy, who Mrs McCallum said only looked about eight or nine years old, picked her up and carried her outside while she was still convulsing.
Mrs McCallum said although she was right outside the jumping castle she couldn't see inside because it was closed in.
“I saw him carry her out and lay her down while she was having a seizure - her face was blue,” she said.
Mrs McCallum said if it wasn't for the little boy, who she did not get a chance to thank, Savannah, two, could have died or suffered serious brain damage if left in that state long enough.
She described his efforts as heroic, as she said most little kids would not know what to do or realise something was wrong.
An ambulance was called and treated Savannah on scene at the Rockhampton Showgrounds.
Savannah had her first epileptic fit when she was three months old. Since then she has had about 30 fits at random.
Mrs McCallum said Savannah's epilepsy is temperature related and is triggered when she gets too hot or too cold.
Mrs McCallum thinks her body temperature must have overheated while on the jumping castle.
Mrs McCallum said she would like to find out who the little boy was so she could thank him.
