Remembrance Day ceremony at Frenchville Sports Club's new memorial. CHRIS ISON CI11/1109/2
CENTRAL Queenslanders from all walks of life paused for a minute’s silence this morning to remember our fallen soldiers during Remembrance Day services across the region.
At Frenchville Sports Club, The Capricornia/ Rockhampton Region RSL sub branch opened and dedicated a new memorial that has been erected at the club with community members and former soldiers paying their respects.
Crowds also gathered at a service in the city heart followed by the placing of flora on the war graves in the war cemetery.
Out of the city, there were services at Gracemere, Yeppoon, Emu Park, Emerald and Clermont.
Today is the 90th time that Australians have commemorated Remembrance Day.
See full coverage and a special story with a veteran of the Malayan Emergency and the Vietnam War, Rockhampton’s Ian Power, in tomorrow's Morning Bulletin.
