Comets unveil new logo and jingle

THE Central Queensland Comets have given notice that while the team looks confidently towards the future it has no intention of forgetting the journey it has taken.
On Tuesday evening at Voss Park, during a break in a training run, players and sponsors were given a presentation of the club’s new logo design from chief executive officer Scott Minto.
“We have merged the logo with that of the Capras, as that is where we came from,” Minto said.
“It will give us a new and modern look.”

The move to a new, updated logo celebrates a decade since the club was formed under the name of the Capras.
It wasn’t until 2000 that the name was changed to the Central Queensland Comets.
The new logo will appear on the training kit and match kit for the new season.
Also new for the playing season will be the name Rockhampton Podiatry, winner of the Comets “100 club” for 2010. The company name will appear on the front of the Comets playing jersey.
Minto said it didn’t stop there as the Comets would also have a new club jingle as they push forward to repeat, and hopefully better, the successes of 2009.
Minto said the new image was a part of the development of the club.
“It is 10 years to the day (Tuesday) the Comets (club) was formed,” he said.
“It is significant for us and where we are going and significant for me as I played as a Capra.”
Coach Wayne Barnett looks upon the logo as a provider of further inspiration for his players.
“We will take pride in that logo,” he stated.

love it. Good to see someone is taking a little initiative and trying to improve the image of one of our local commodities.
