FIRE bans have been extended across Queensland where power tools are suspected of having sparked a number of blazes.
The Queensland Fire and Rescue Service (QFRS) says fire bans will remain in place until midnight on December 7 in central and southern Queensland as well as parts of north Queensland.
The ban covers Rockhampton, Cherbourg, Gympie, Bundaberg and the Fraser Coast due to dangerous fire conditions.
Residents are urged to have fire plans in place if they use machinery or power tools which are believed to have caused several blazes over the weekend.
