Flooding keeps roads closed

Automatic flood cover advised for QldRECENT tsunami warnings keep water and flood damage top of mind on Queensland’s coast, while unpredictable storms and floods again threaten the interior.

ROCKHAMPTON Regional Council has released the latest road closures due to localised flooding.

They are:

Eastern Area

  • Apis Creek Road at Mackenzie River – Closed for approximately one week
  • Waterpark Creek Road at Waterpark Creek
  • Bald Hills Road 


Western Area

  • Various locations in Bajool and Marmor area (the Bruce Highway is not closed) 
  • Port Curtis Road near the Woolwash
  • North Langmorn Road, Bajool
  • Old Capricorn Highway at Scrubby Creek
  • Most of the roads in the former Fitzroy Shire Council area have some partial water over them
  • Port Alma Road, Bajool
  • Roope Road at the Causeway – will be closed for at least two days
  • San Jose Road, Bajool
  • Six Mile Road, Bajool
  • Stanwell – Waroula Road at Dalma end
  • Toonda to Port Alma 

Beaches

  • Bangalee vehicular beach access
  • Kemp Beach – All accesses to Kemp Beach are closed except for the very northern access opposite Beaches Bistro at Rosslyn Bay
