RECENT tsunami warnings keep water and flood damage top of mind on Queensland’s coast, while unpredictable storms and floods again threaten the interior.
TWO people were rescued from Longreach floodwaters during a search operation at first light this morning.
The alarm was initially raised at 10.30 last night with a report the pair was missing and the Capricorn Helicopter Rescue aircraft was tasked.
The chopper crew, police and SES members found the pair in the Thomson River at 6.30am.
Both had no injuries and were in good spirits.
