THIRTEEN people, including eight Vietnamese tourists, spent last night in an evacuation centre at Theodore as flood waters in the town peaked.

Only two houses in the town were inundated from floodwaters, although residents at a further 20 homes reported water in their yards.

Water levels in Theodore are dropping today, however the town remains isolated.

Banana Shire deputy mayor Maureen Clancy says the focus is now on Moura with water levels expected to peak there sometime today.

Despite this, Cr Clancy says they don't expect the town itself to be impacted at all.
