AS ladies from across Central Queensland prepare for this year’s first social event of the racing season, fashionista Georgina Marshall reveals the season’s hottest trackside looks.

St Patrick’s Day Races will be celebrated in true Irish style at Callaghan Park this Saturday from noon.

Georgina Marshall, the manager of Rockhampton fashion boutique Va Voom, said this year’s autumn fashion racing season was all about classic looks and taupe toning with lighter shades of earthy browns and romantic colours like deep purple and soft pinks.

Win News presenter and passionate race-goer Samantha Heathwood is dressed in a classic frock featuring a floral element and matching purple flower and fascinator.

The stunning races dress is one of well-known local designer Kellyanne Russell’s, who creates custom-made designs through Va Voom.

Former Rockhampton fashionista Sandra Hansen of Mackay will be special guest judge for fashions in the field on the day.

For those last-minute race-goers, tickets are still available online or from the Diocesan Catholic Education Office, Va Voom at Red Hill and the Stockland Information Desk.

Samantha said although she had a girlfriend’s hen’s party in Brisbane on Saturday night, she wouldn’t miss the big day.

The gorgeous 27-year-old will be going with a simple and classic muted blue frock she has been saving for a special occasion, matched with black accessories and a hat to tie in with the look.

Mrs Marshall said a lot of the designer trends were looks from Melbourne’s racing scene.
