Ghost hunt lands man in court

A MAN who went to see a ghost at the former Neerkol Orphanage was recently convicted for trespassing.

Benjamin Nathaniel Munday-Barber and his friend were caught on CCTV at the former orphanage grounds, near Rockhampton, now owned by Stanwell Corporation.

About 1am on February 5, Munday-Barber and his friend were driven by a person they didn’t know along Meteor Park Rd before they jumped a barbed wire fence and walked for several hours through bush.

They saw boxes with flashing lights, but didn’t realise they were cameras.

Munday-Barber was arrested on April 1.

In court recently, Defence solicitor Anthony DeFraine said Munday-Barber thought they were visiting the house of his friend’s grandparents and had asked to leave as soon as he realised they were trespassing.

Magistrate John McGrath fined Munday-Barber, who pleaded guilty, $400 and recorded a conviction.
