Cathy Carroll puts the finishing touches on her handicraft for the Rocky Swap this weekend.
DOUG and Cathy Carroll are collectors and creators, ready to share their treasures with bargain hunters at this year's Rocky Swap.
The couple from Wagga Wagga have been on the road for about two and half months and are happy to rest for a while at the Rockhampton Showgrounds.
Doug is keen to showcase his collection of petrol memorabilia, including signs and oil bottles.
The couple will also have old wares, toys and handicraft available at their stall.
Cathy has been hard at work embroidering grub roses and creating beautiful hanging hand towels.
The pair are not new to the swap scene but aren't regulars in Rockhampton.
“We've been here several years ago and that was the first time, but we're booked in to come back next year,” Doug said.
“We've been travelling around towns that we want to see.”
Bargain hunters are in for a treat this weekend with Doug and Cathy's stall being one of almost 1000 expected to open at the Rocky Swap on Saturday.
The city's 14th annual swap meet is organised by the Rotary Club of Rockhampton North and the All Classic Motor Club with help from Rotarians from as far as Bundaberg.
The massive event is the third largest in Australia and is expected to raise about $20,000 to split between the organising clubs.
