ON TUESDAY Premier Anna Bligh challenged her Labor colleagues to try to engage with the community by spending a day in a different job.

Member for Rockhampton Robert Schwarten said he would consider getting back into the classroom or onto a construction site, or perhaps helping out in a small business.

Member for Keppel Paul Hoolihan also considered helping out in a small business or getting out under the sun with the workers who keep our roads and gardens clean.

Yesterday morning Brad Villiers, from the Sea FM Morning Crew radio program, came up with a snappy parody song with some ideas for jobs for the Labor pollies.

The song (see lyrics below) was developed in just 20 minutes and set to the tune of Bob Dylan's All Along the Watchtower.

LYRICS

There must be some kind of job we can try

Said Anna to her peeps

They don't really like us much

Us they don't want to keep

Businessmen we should give it a go

Teachers, maybe no

But there are some that are better than that

We've got to give them a go

I want to be a journo

Said Schwarto to the mob

There are many reasons why

I feel that would be a cool job

I want to host X Factor

Said Mister Paul Hoolihan

I can sing and I can dance real good

I think I am the man

All throughout the parliament

They went out on a limb

A dolphin trainer, it was raised

But Kirsten cannot swim

Anna Bligh she shouted

I know which job I'll do-a

I'm gonna wear a high-vis vest

And be an airline chock puller.
