AUSTRALIA’S youngest politician, Wyatt Roy, has been given a prestigious gong in the 2010 GQ Men of the Year Awards, standing alongside comedians, famous chefs and yachtsmen.
The men’s fashion magazine put the newly elected Member for Longman in the same basket as Firass Dirani from Underbelly, who was named TV Actor of the Year, Wil Anderson for media personality and Curtis Stone as Chef of the Year.
The main accolade was taken by former Home and Away stalwart and current Hollywood heart-throb Ryan Kwanten.
GQ Australia said the actor had “overcome significant obstacles to succeed in the highly competitive US market”.
Humbly accepting the award, Ryan said he could now die a happy man.
Editor Nick Smith said the awards were a long-running and respected event for Australian gents.
“The premise behind the GQ Men of the Year Awards is to celebrate the achievements of Australian gentlemen and who better than Ryan Kwanten as our GQ Man of the Year?” Mr Smith said.
