BEING a working mum, a super mum at that, can be a juggling act.
There are big decisions to be made on a day-to-day basis.
How much uncooked cake mix can you eat before you only have enough left to make half a cake?
How long can you hold off washing the car before the kids can no longer recognize it when you turn up to collect them from school?
These really important decisions even need to be made at work.
How long can I help myself to the free food on offer at corporate events before I attract attention to myself?
With busier than ever lifestyles, working and family commitments, I find that more and more are we required to multi-task.
That shouldn't be a problem as women are the best at multi-tasking.
It is more about the decisions we make about what we multi-task that could be the problem.
We all know the dangers of texting and driving, ironing clothing while wearing them and even applying make-up in the car while driving to work.
They sound stupid, but there are plenty of you, I am sure, that have tried them all.
I saw a suggestion on Twitter recently about not baking cookies in the same oven that you are roasting a chicken.
Chicken flavoured cookies aren't so edible.
Great advice.
From experience I have learnt I shouldn't hold beverages while watching scary movies.
To do so would mean to wear the drink at some point as I leap in the air from fright.
This month is the one we multi-task the most, with Christmas to prepare for, parties to attend, presents to buy, not to mention kids on holidays to entertain, on top of our normal daily duties.
So here is my Christmas message to you all (which I hereby declare replaces any need for me to send Christmas cards this year and makes up for all the ones I didn't get around to last year).
Let this be your Christmas to freely wrap the presents that weren't used from last Christmas, and give them to someone else.
It is gift giving, spring cleaning and recycling all in one.
I even suggest you do it with a drink in hand.
After all, tis the season to be jolly. Merry Christmas.
