YEPPOON motorists experienced lengthy traffic delays yesterday as repairs to the surface of the Henry Beak Bridge at Ross Ck were carried out.
The roadworks affected thousands of vehicles using the Scenic Hwy.
Some motorists were forced to wait up to 25 minutes to get onto the bridge, as one lane was closed.
A spokeswoman for Rockhampton Regional Council said the roadworks had been done over the last two days.
She said delays had been caused by expansion joints which prevented the profiler machine, used to remove the old asphalt from the deck of the bridge, operating at capacity.
She said heavy traffic along the Scenic Hwy had also limited the hours that could be worked.
Work will continue today.
