Join the excited families and line the 3.3 kilometre route in Adelaide's city centre to welcome the colourful and exciting Credit Union Christmas Pageant - the traditional welcome to the festive season. Get your spot early- you'll be amazed at early birds and the Christmas spirit. Watch the amazing parade of storybook floats; listen to the marching bands and to wave to Father Christmas. From humble beginnings of just eight horse drawn floats and four bands, the event has grown to include 63 floats, 15 bands, 10 dancing groups, clowns and walking sets. Watch as more than 1,700 people participate in the pageant. More than 200 extra volunteers work behind the scenes to make the pageant possible. 2012 will mark the 80th anniversary of this South Australian tradition, so extra surprises are being planned. Credit Union Christmas Pageant is a family event. Enjoy the spirit of Christmas and community.
