150 nippers turn on talent in surf and on sand
SURF LIFE SAVING: Maggie Tapp led the way for Emu Park Surf Life Saving Club, winning every event she contested in the third and final round of the three-point carnival on Sunday.
The under-11 competitor was among 150 nippers who converged on Emu Park's Main Beach for the event.
Tannum Sands was victorious, making it a clean sweep for the club after it won the two opening rounds.
There was a number of impressive individual performances on Sunday.
Like Tapp, who dominated the under-11 girls division, under-13 boys competitor Coby Richardson from Tannum Sands also won every event he took part in.
Emu Park's Chloe Hooton won the under-13 board and teamed up with Grier McRae to win the board rescue and Yeppoon's Emily Sattler won the iron and the board race.
Selectors are currently finalising the northern half branch team, made up of nippers in the U11 to U14 age groups from Emu Park, Yeppoon and Tannum Sands, which will compete against the southern half of the branch at a carnival in March next year.
The region's youngsters will now enjoy a break before competition resumes with the branch titles in Yeppoon in early February.
