$170,000 project to replace water line at Mt Morgan finished
FITZROY River Water has recently completed the replacement of a troublesome water main at Mount Morgan.
Rockhampton Regional Council's Water Committee Councillor chair Greg Belz said the water main at Hall and Lyons Streets, Mount Morgan had a history of failures.
"Replacing the line has reduced the risk of future water supply disruptions in this area," Cr Belz said.
"This is part of FRW's ongoing works program which continues to improve the Region's water and sewerage infrastructure.
"This project, which started in November last year and cost $170,000, means better water flow and pressure and stronger fire fighting protection for the area.
"I am determined to continue prudent major investment in underground water mains infrastructure that gives strong, reliable infrastructure for current and future generations and reduces the maintenance costs associated with aging infrastructure.
"FRW runs a tight ship, working hard to keep costs down and get on with the job."
