19-year-old allegedly raped a woman at Woorabinda

A YOUNG man accused of raping a woman in Woorabinda has been allowed to live in Loganholme, near Brisbane, while the prosecution gathers its evidence.

The 19-year-old appeared in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court on Monday facing two counts of rape.

A police prosecutor confirmed the man was arrested in Woorabinda on Saturday.

However, she could not provide details of the alleged offences.

The court heard he was scheduled to board a flight to Brisbane yesterday afternoon.

He was granted bail and was ordered to report to a police station at Loganholme every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

The case has been adjourned for eight weeks to allow evidence to be gathered. His case was adjourned to August 27 for a committal-mention.
