200-plus Rocky rail workers strike

MORE than 200 Rockhampton rail workers have walked off the job this morning in protest of Anna Bligh's decision to sell off parts of Queensland Rail.

The workers met this morning and voted to go on strike.

It follows Ms Bligh's announcement yesterday that the Government would overhaul the structure of the state's rail system to create two new entities: a publicly listed company to be known as QR National and a government-owned corporation to be known as QR.

QR National will have a 99-year lease over the state's coal and general freight networks.

The Morning Bulletin will have extensive coverage of all today's developments in tomorrow's edition.
