$20,000 boating gear stolen

ABOUT $20,000 worth of boating and fishing equipment was stolen from a vessel at Yeppoon’s Keppel Bay Marina at the weekend.

Items including a radar and radar dome were taken from the boat, called Stella Maris, which is under construction inside the marina’s boat holding yard.

Police are gathering more quotes for the missing property.

The thieves also stole goods from two other vessels inside the yard during their raid between Friday night and early Sunday morning.

Police warn more boats may have been targeted, and are calling on the public to help catch the thieves.

If you have any information, contact Yeppoon Police on 4939 0000 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
