3pm Friday most likely crash time in Rocky and Livingstone

A SUNNY Friday afternoon in August on a good road - these are typical conditions for a crash in the Rockhampton and Livingstone regions.

August, May, June, March and September are the most common months and 3pm on Friday is the most common time for road crashes across the region.

The road will be dry and sealed.

In the 13 years to 2013, the worst year on our roads was 2009.

Rain and fog might be dangerous driving conditions but in Rockhampton you're more likely to have a crash on a perfect day.

There were 6421 accidents on sunny days between 2001 and 2013.

It was raining during 675 crashes, foggy for 45 smashes and there was smoke or dust in the air for just 14 crashes.
