Fined for 5041 abusive calls, texts
A HERVEY Bay woman who called and texted her former boyfriend with threatening messages more than 5000 times has been fined in court.
Shola Maree Fitzek, 32, broke the conditions of her domestic violence order when she sent the text messages to the man.
In the messages she called him names and threatened to keep their children away.
She also made threats of violence against the man's parents.
Fitzek was fined $500 when she pleaded guilty in Hervey Bay Magistrates Court.
Magistrate Graeme Tatnell told Fitzek her behaviour would have been costly and extremely time-consuming. "You wouldn't have time to do anything else," he said.
Fitzek's former partner provided police with evidence that he'd received 5041 missed calls and texts from her on his mobile phone between October last year and January.
In one message, she threatened to ram his gate with her car and "smash his head in".
"You'd better sleep with one eye open - you and your parents," another text said, referring to the fact her former boyfriend was now living with his mother and father.
"LMFAO (Laughing my f***ing a*** off) I'll be back."
Fitzek also told the father of her children he was "nothing but a c**t" and that she wanted to "punch (his) head in"
Duty lawyer Craig Ryan told the court many of the texts Fitzek sent were responses to messages she'd received.
