$9000 on offer at fashion stakes

ROCKHAMPTON'S biggest shopping centre, Stockland Rockhampton, will be providing racegoers with style to win Fashions on the Field this racing season.

The retail centre signed up as the major naming rights sponsor of this year's event during the Rockhampton Spring Racing Carnival.

The Rockhampton Jockey Club will hold St Peter's Caulfield Cup Day on Saturday, October 15, and Knight Frank Melbourne Cup Day on Tuesday, November 1, at Callaghan Park Racecourse.

There will be a record $9000 in prizes to be won over the two popular race days, including two beautiful rings from Mystique Jewellers, Rebecca's Lingerie gift vouchers, Terry White Chemist gift baskets, sunglasses from Sunglass Hut, Suna Shoes gift vouchers, Hairhouse Warehouse gift vouchers, flowers from Absolutely Beautiful Flowers and Stockland Rockhampton gift vouchers.

There are three categories which are free for all race patrons to enter on the day including Best Dressed Women 30 and under, Best Dressed Women over 30 and Best Dressed Male.

RJC chief executive Denis Cox said the club was delighted to be associated with Stockland Rockhampton and their retailers.

"Stockland Rockhampton is the region's largest and most popular shopping centre and I'm sure many racegoers will be finding their outfit and accessories from one of their many stores," Mr Cox said.

Stockland Rockhampton marketing manager Kerri Foreman said getting Stockland involved in the event worked out well.

"When people think of the Spring Racing Carnival they think of fashion and fun," she said.

"With over 69 fashion retailers located at Stockland Rockhampton it was only fitting that we are associated with this popular social time of year."
