Carmody blamed for conflict of interest in Morcombe case

QUEENSLAND'S Chief Justice has only himself to blame for the latest controversy over his suitability and lack of support in the state's top legal job, a former Supreme Court judge says.

Recently retired Justice Alan Wilson told the ABC yesterday that Chief Justice Tim Carmody had put himself in a position where he had no choice but to withdraw from judging the appeal of Daniel Morcombe's convicted killer.
