Stage set for shorts at Yeppoon Little Theatre

From The Capricorn Coast Mirror

THE excitement is building at Yeppoon Little Theatre as final rehearsals take place for the staging of Pull Up Your Shorts, a collection of 10-minute plays written, directed and performed by people from within the Capricorn Coast and Rockhampton areas.

Club secretary Jill Curran said "Pull Up Your Shorts" proved a winner with audiences last year at the launching of the 10-minute play concept.

"This year, we had 24 scripts submitted for consideration and, from these, a selection panel has chosen 13 to fill the program," Jill said.

Eight writers, nine directors and 29 actors will bring Pull Up Your Shorts to the stage.

Their casting night was the most successful yet, Ms Curran said, with 13 actors about to make their first performances on the Yeppoon Little Theatre stage.

"The plays cover all genres of theatre. Patrons are assured there is plenty of comedy," she said.

Once again, the audiences will have a chance to win coveted boxes of Cadbury's Favourites by choosing the play they consider to be the best on each night. This year, a winner will be announced at every performance.

Audiences have five opportunities to catch a performance of Pull Up Your Shorts.
