INDIAN cricket fans describe Sachin Tendulkar as the god of cricket.
Now they will be able to worship the recently retired batting legend in a new temple to be opened in his honour next year.
The shrine is being built by Manoj Tiwary, a local film star, and will cost $A122,000.
Tendulkar retired from international cricket following India's Test victory over the West Indies in Mumbai last week.
He played in 664 international matches, scoring 34,357 runs including 100 centuries.
