Man still in hospital after assault on Fitzroy Bridge

A 43-YEAR-old man is in a critical condition at Rockhampton Hospital with head injuries after he was assaulted on the Fitzroy Bridge last night.

UPDATE: Police could not confirm the mans name however, they said he was in a stable condition in intensive care at Rockhampton Hospital as of this morning.

The incident occurred at 3.15am.

A 24-year-old Gracemere man has been charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm. He is expected to appear at Rockhampton Magistrates Court today.
